3 July 2015 San Antonio, Texas, USA [Victor Hulbert, tedNEWS] Visit the exhibition area of the Seventh-day Adventist World Church Session in San Antonio, Texas and you will not fail to see bright and cheerful Newbold staff interacting with a broad range of visitors and delegates. Sometimes they will even be dressed in a guardsman uniform.

During the ten days of GC Session staff find themselves engaging with hundreds of former students while talking with many others who might be attracted to a quality education in England. The booth is busy. They seem to be having success.

They are having success in another direction as well. College Principal, Dr John Baildam made the following announcement on Thursday, 2 July:
“We are delighted that the Senate of the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, which has campuses in Lampeter, Carmarthen, Swansea and London, has voted to accept Newbold College of Higher Education as a partner of the University. There are no conditions to be met, and we are now moving straight to the stage of validating our undergraduate and postgraduate Theology programmes.”

Speaking from the exhibition centre, Dr John Baildam, Principal, added: “This decision was based on the recommendation of a panel which visited the College after examining its academic, legal and financial documentary submission for partnership approval. I am really pleased that Senate has ratified this, and my colleagues and I very much look forward to working with the University.”

The College will continue its valued partnerships with Theologische Hochschule Friedensau, Andrews University and Washington Adventist University but, Dr Baildam states, “it is satisfying to know that as a UK provider we are a partner of a UK university.”

This will provide additional local synergy, and will enable British students to obtain grants and loans for their studies. Newbold College of Higher Education enjoys educational oversight from the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education. It is also accredited by the British Accreditation Council for Further and Higher Education; the Accrediting Association of Seventh-day Adventist Schools, Colleges and Universities; and the British Council for its language provision.
